GAI hosts two Japanese Students from Nagoya University

(L. to R.) Tatsuya Murase and Mayuka MatsumotoThe Griffith Asia Institute recently hosted two students from Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, Japan. Tatsuya and Mayuka spent one week undertaking work experience at GAI as part of their English Language course at Griffith University. The main aim of the program was for students to experience the Australian work environment. And practice their language skills.

Both Tatsuya and Mayuka have a keen interest in Japan’s resources- albeit from two very different angles. Tatsuya was interested in the issues over fishing rights on Liancourt Rocks between Japan and South Korea. Whilst Mayuka worked closely with Valdo Vivoda looking at potential renewable energy sources for Japan. They were able to combine their interests and work experience by working closely with GAI’s researchers.

It was a pleasure to have both students at GAI and we wish them all the very best in their studies. Have a safe journey back to Japan.
