During the QCA graduate shows throughout October and November, our graduating students showcased work from the disciplines of fine art, photography, design and digital media, contemporary Australian Indigenous art, film, animation and games design. These exhibitions celebrated the remarkable achievements of students during their studies, and recognised notable outstanding students through awards across each of the creative disciplines.

Art lecturer wins People’s Choice Award

Queensland College of ArtlecturerDr Julie Fragarhas won the $15,000 Ramsay Art Prize People’s Choice Award. The biennial art award recognises Australian contemporary artists under 40 working across any medium. Dr Fragar's oil painting, Goose Chase: All of Us Together Here and Nowhere, won the popular prize and has been acquired by the Art Gallery of South Australia.

QCA unveils new South Bank design studios

The Queensland College of Art has unveiled its new design studios at South Bank. The state-of-the-art creative space will provide cutting edge facilities and equipment for students pursuing a design and fine art career. The 3D print and laser cutting labs, microelectronics workshops, fine arts studios and flexible work spaces allow students to take their concepts from design to prototype under one roof.
