Queensland College of Art graduate Meryl Keioskie has won the Design Institute of Australia's Queensland Graduate of the Year Award (GOTYA). Meryl said she was "in complete shock" about the award, which recognised her Honours project - an arresting graphic novel about her life with Asperger's Syndrome.

Queensland College of Art (QCA) Fine Art graduate Angela Fok won first prize for Jewellery Design in the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) Queensland Graduate of the Year Awards (GOTYA), with two further students receiving high commendations and several others named finalists.
