If you’re a financial planning or accounting student, shine your shoes and mark your calendar as firms from the industry will be on campus for a Student/Industry Conference on Saturday September 13.
Firms from the Accounting and Financial Planning industry will be at the Logan campus for the event, which is part of the new Professional degrees.
Program Director Dr Mark Brimble said students from all campuses were encouraged to attend.
“The Student/Industry Conference provides an exceptional opportunity for students to meet with future employers and start building their networks,” Dr Brimble said.
The Student/Industry conference will be held on Saturday, September 13 with registration commencing at 8am in L03 Foyer. The day concludes at 5pm.
The conference theme is Breaking the Drought: Sustainability – the Professional Challenge and there will be industry and student presentations, industry booths and a networking lunch.
“Industry representatives will be available to provide insights into what working for their firm may be like and also what a career in accounting or financial planning involves,” Dr Brimble said.
The firms involved include Professional Investment Services, Q Invest, Financial Planning Association of Australia, Bentleys, Alwyn Peffer & Company, CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
While attendance is free places are limited so registrations are required by Friday, August 29. Registrations can be made to Jo McConnell on [email protected] or 07 3382 1254.
Students attending are encouraged to wear professional attire.
