Queensland ConservatoriumGriffith University doctoral student Leah Coutts has received the People’s Choice award in Griffith University’s three minute thesis competition.
Leah Coutts is currently researching pedagogy in her PhD.
The competition gave her three minutes to present her research in straightforward terms to a lay audience.
She spoke about “Why can’t I just play already?” Examining the role of mindsets, critical pedagogy and experiential learning in facilitating adult learning at the piano”.
A private piano teacher, Leah has a Bachelor of Music Studies with First Class Honours and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. She studied electric organ, and then pipe organ with internationally acclaimed Christopher Wrench.
