At Griffith Business School students are encouraged to explore diverse industries, connect with professionals, and gain experiences that shape their career journeys. The Business Crawl, a signature initiative held during Orientation Week, provides a unique opportunity for students to do just that, engaging with leading organisations and gaining firsthand insights into potential career paths.

During the most recent tour students explored a broad range of exciting career possibilities with prominent partners such as KPMG, Gold Coast University Hospital, Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, Southport Sharks, Cohort Innovation Space, W Brisbane, and the Department of Justice.

Industry partner, Ms Sarah Henderson

A key highlight of the Business Crawl is the interaction between students and industry professionals who provide career guidance and practical wisdom. Sarah Henderson, Senior Talent Strategy Advisor, with the Department of Justice QLD said,

It was a pleasure to be involved with the Business Crawl and showcase the diversity of career opportunities available within the Queensland Government. Initially, some students were unsure why we were on the schedule, but by the time they left, they were excited about a potential future in public service.”

Ms Stacey Talbot

Industry engagement is at the heart of the School’s mission, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workforce through meaningful connections and experiential learning. Griffith Business School Student Development Coordinator, Stacey Talbot emphasised the program’s value, noting that it bridges classroom learning with real-world application. “The Business Crawl is about more than just networking, it’s about helping students plan their future, gain confidence, and build connections that could shape their careers.

For students, the Business Crawl enhances career awareness and personal growth. Shubhrajyotsna Mayur Adhikari, a Master of Business student, shared her perspective, “Each session I attended was filled with amazing staff members who shared their experiences with us and talked about the challenges they faced during their journey to success.”

This initiative is a great example of the School’s commitment to equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to make a positive impact in their chosen fields.
