Construction on the new student accommodation tower at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus has commenced following an official sod-turning event.
With Campus Living Villages onboard for the project, the development will deliver 459 new beds for Griffith students and contribute to the reduction of housing pressure.
Completion is forecast for mid-2026, taking the total number of students living on campus close to 1,000.
Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Carolyn Evans, said the Gold Coast campus is booming and the new student accommodation tower will enable more students to access education and to live nearby.
“The tower will feature a mix of studio, two-bedroom rooms, and accessible units with a substantial uplift in amenities to benefit all residents which includes a new swimming pool, cinema and a range of contemporary communal spaces,” Professor Evans said.
“We are committed to offering our students a first-class university experience and will continue to work with our existing on-campus partner, Campus Living Villages and other off-campus student accommodation providers, to ensure accommodation meets the needs of our students.
“Our Gold Coast campus offers students the opportunity to study in one of the most enviable places to live in the world, and we want to assist our students in having a place to live conveniently situated on campus.”
