A feature of our annual calendar for the School of Education and Professional Studies is sponsorship of the Queensland Department of Education Showcase Awards for Excellence, which celebrates excellent practices that significantly improve outcomes for students. This year the Griffith University Jack Pizzey Award for Excellence in School Leadership 2020 was presented to Matthew O’Hanlon, Beenleigh State High School. Congratulations! The celebrations continue as in October we celebrate World Teachers’ Day and in a year when the importance of teachers has never been so prominent, we especially look forward to marking this day and highlighting the value of teachers to our community.
