Digital credentials set Peter apart from the rest

Peter Avetisoff is already reaping the rewards of his Griffith Credentials.

Bachelor of Counselling student Peter Avetisoff says he is already reaping the rewards of displaying his digital Griffith Credentials on his online profile.

Griffith University now provides a digital version of your qualifications and capabilities in the form of badges, transforming the way you share your learning achievements in the digital sphere.

They tell employers what you have done and why it is important. You can earn a digital badge for a range of activities such as courses, awards, and co-curricular programs.

Peter is a support worker finishing the final few courses before becoming a counsellor and finds Griffith Credentials a great way of sharing with his colleagues what he has achieved.

“At first I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it has been great having the badges on my LinkedIn,” Peter said.

“It’s a nice way to let my work know what I’m achieving at Uni.”

He said even his managers are taking notice of the Credentials appearing on his account.

“A lot of the badges I’ve been putting up, my manager will call me to congratulate me, so it’s definitely positive in that sense,” he said.

Peter also believes the Credentials would be impressive to prospective employers and potentially set him apart from others.

“If I do find myself looking for a job and people are looking up my LinkedIn account, having the Credentials there is only going to benefit me.

“The Mental Health First Aider — Accredited Credential in particular was really good because I work in mental health, so it further supported my knowledge and skills in this area.”
