Experience Design (XD) innovation

 

Griffith hosts the inaugural International Conference of Experience Design, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (XD2019) on the Gold Coast this week.

Hosted by the Griffith Centre for Design and Innovation Research (CDAIR), the conference explores innovations in experience design, from business, technology, to healthcare and learning.

Tackling the key issues of our time

CDAIR Director and Conference Chair Professor Ming Cheung said the inaugural conference would address some of the key issues facing society in the 21st century.

“XD2019 Gold Coast brings disciplines together around the theme of ‘Exploring and Enhancing Experience’ to discuss some of the key issues of our time,” she said.

“The conference will canvas everything from fostering economic, socio-cultural and technological advancement, to promoting sustainability and wellbeing in Australia and beyond.

“XD2019 Gold Coast provides Griffith University with an excellent platform to become a leading hub of research excellence in XD innovations.”

World-class partnerships

The Conference has attracted presenters from seven countries and 26 cities. There will be six keynote presentations and a host of panels and workshops.

“CDAIR reflects Griffith’s focus on remarkable scholarship and impactful innovation that make a major contribution to our society and economy,” Professor Cheung said.

“This interdisciplinary innovation hub links experience research and design with other fields and a global initiative involving world-class researchers and industry partners from Australia, China, Italy, Singapore, the Netherlands, the UK and the US.

“Since its establishment, CDAIR has fostered a range of industry, government and community partnerships, strengthening Griffith’s engagement with the local and international communities.”

XD2019GoldCoast runs from 14-16 August at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus.
