Griffith University strengthens partnership with Yunnan Normal University (YNNU), China

Professor Ian O'Connor, Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Sarah Todd, Pro Vice Chancellor (International), Mr Thomas Toh, Regional Director (Greater China), Professor Yichuan Yuan, Vice President, and Mr Roger Li, Australia Education Management Group AEMG visit Yunnan Normal University on 19 October 2014.

On 19 October 2014, Professor Ian O’Connor, Vice Chancellor and President, Griffith University paid a return visit to Yunnan Normal University to commemorate the long standing partnership between both institutions following the visit by Professor Yang Lin, President UNNU to Griffith on 19 May 2014.

A tree planting ceremony was held to testify the ever growing friendly relations between both universities and was attended by Professor Sarah Todd, Pro Vice Chancellor (International), Griffith University, Professor Yichuan Yuan, Vice President, Yunnan Normal University, and students.

Professor LIU Zongli, Vice President also visited Griffith on 31 May 2013 where a signing of a university-wide Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) took place with Professor Ian O’Connor, Vice Chancellor and President.

Yunnan University is located in Kunming “Spring City”, the capital city of Yunnan Province in PR China. Established in 1938 as the National Normal College of Southwestern Union, it was jointly founded by Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University.
