Back by popular demand for the first time in eight years, the Nathan Dash will be held at the Griffith University Nathan Campus on Thursday, September 11.
Open to staff and students the 660m sprint will go through the centre of campus, starting in the Campus Heart travelling along the Johnson path, through the underpass to The Hub circling down past the centre for Interfaith and Cultural Dialogue and returning back down the Johnson path to finish in the Campus Heart.
Griffith Sport Event Coordinator Holly Ruhle says the event is an exciting addition to the growing portfolio of sporting events organised by the Griffith Sports team.
“It promotes the fantastic fitness culture at Griffith that is nurtured by the University’s many sporting facilities.
“We hope the event will attract a combination of highly trained competitors and those just looking for a fun way to participate with their colleagues and peers.
“The finals will be held at midday, so grab some lunch and come down and cheer on the participants at the finish line.”
The Nathan Dash will offer the winning participant bragging rights as the fastest on campus as well a $150 dollar prize up for grabs for Open Student – Women’s and Men’s categories.
Anyone interested in participating should go to www.griffith.edu.au/sport-events and complete the online registration by Tuesday , September 9 to reserve their place in the event. All payments will be taken at the Nathan Fitness Centre (N11).
