Griffith signs Agreement with Jilin University

Prof Sarah Todd, Pro Vice Chancellor (International) hosted a meeting with Professor Xiaomin LIU, Vice Chairman of the University Council of Jilin University who led a delegation on Tuesday, 6 May at the Gold Coast Campus.

The delegation visited Griffith to sign an Articulation Agreement for a collaboration with Jilin University regarding Griffith’s Bachelor of Information Technology program and builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2010.Jilin University is a leading national research university under the direct jurisdiction of China’s Ministry of Education, and is ranked amongst the top 10 universities in the country.

Located in Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province in Northeast China, the university has seven campuses which are home to thirty-nine colleges covering academic disciplines that include philosophy, international relations, economics, law, literature, education, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and military science.

The delegationmembers included: Professor Xiaomin Liu, Vice Chairman of University Council; Chairman ofFaculty of Medical Sciences, Professor Liang Hu; Director of Undergraduate Teaching AffairsOffice, Professor of Computer Science and Technology, Professor Xiaohui Wei; Dean of College ofComputer Science and Technology, Professor Xiaohui Zhao; Dean of College of CommunicationEngineering; and Dr. Guangcui Zhang; Deputy Director of Division of International Relations,Associate Professor in Economics.

As well as Professor Todd, the delegation met with: AssociateProfessor Bela Stantic, Deputy Head, School of Information & Communication Technology; AssociateProfessor Alan Wee-Chung Liew, School of Information & Communication Technology; ProfessorJunwei Lu, Griffith School of Engineering; Professor Graham Cuskelly, Dean (Research), GriffithBusiness School; Ms Gayle Murray, Manager, International Relations; Ms Yvette Baxter, ExecutiveSupport Officer, International, Griffith Sciences; and Ms Marcela Corona, International Delegations &Communications Coordinator.
