How to improve the immune system using natural milk proteins is the focus of a research study at Griffith University.
A placebo-controlled study will ask adults who want to improve their health to take a supplement containing milk proteins for one month.
“In addition to roles in host defence, recent evidence suggests that these proteins may be beneficial for metabolism,” says lead researcher Dr Nicholas West from the Griffith Health Institute. “This study aims to assess the biological pathways which are involved in driving responses to these supplements.
“This study will help us determine if the supplements can improve immune and metabolic function to enhance health.”
The study is seeking Gold Coast residents aged between 18-55 to consume the supplement and undergo a series of health assessments at the Griffith Health Institute.
The study will be ongoing for several months and outcomes known by the end of the year.
