Working with children an inspiration

Graduate Kylee Ahlan urges everyone to study at university

A love of working with children was the inspiration for education graduate Kylee Ahlan.

Kylee completed a Bachelor of Education majoring in Primary at Griffith University’s Logan campus last year and has since secured a full-time role at a school in the region.

“The reason I studied education is because I get pleasure out of seeing children excel and reach their potential. I particularly enjoy working with young children because I’m still a young child at heart,” she said.

“The whole teaching profession is so inspirational and having their skills to extend learning and seeing improvements in children, is what makes all the hard work worth it.”

“The best thing about teaching is forming relationships with students and seeing them grow. Watching a student have an “a-ha” moment is one of the most rewarding things about this profession.”

“My time at the Logan campus was fantastic. I found it small and inviting. It is more of a community and you know where everything is. I have made lifelong friends.”

“University has provided me with more doorways. Anyone can go to university if they really want to. You just have to set your mind to it,” she said.
