This year the Student Guild and Cancer Council Queensland will be hosting Griffith University Gold Coast Relay for Life which will be taking place on the Gold Coast campus October 19-20, 2013.
Relay For Life is an opportunity to get together with your community and friends to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight back against cancer.
The patron of our relay will be the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ian O’Connor.
Though the entire community is welcome to join, we are hoping that Griffith University students and staff will make up a large proportion of the teams.
This 18 hour event sees teams of 10 to 15 challenge themselves to take turns to keep a baton moving in a relay style walk or run overnight.
You can stay for the whole event, camp overnight, or just visit and enjoy the free live entertainment, prizes and ceremonies that make Relay For Life so inspirational.
Each person on the team pays a registration fee which includes a polo shirt and breakfast at the event.
Teams are encouraged to come up with their own theme and fundraise before and during the event. Our goal is to have 20 teams raise over $20,000.
More information is available at www.relayforlife.org.au or stop into the Student Guild to sign up your team today.
