Medicine students head to Canberra

Griffith University students were among 120 Rural Health Club members from around Australia who converged on Canberra recently for the NextGen Conference. The event, hosted by the National Rural Health Students Network, was designed to inspire future leaders in rural health. Nguunawal elder Mrs Agnes Shea opened the conference with these words: “You’re welcome to leave your footprints on our land.”

Former Griffith dentistry student David Baker was one of the keynote speakers at NextGen. He talked about the volunteer dental clinic run by Hope4Health for the Aboriginal community of Cherbourg.Picture: Rural Health Workforce Australia
