Graduate wins ANZSOC student prize

Recent graduate Alexa Ridgway has received Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology’s Student Paper Prize for 2013.

Her paper, ‘Talking Trauma: Analysing the Relationship between Lawyers’ Communication Techniques and CALD Victim-Survivors’ Disengagement from the Justice System’, was written under the supervision of Professor Kathy Daly.

She will be presented with a Certificate at the Society’s 2013 Conference, held in Brisbane from 1 to 3 October, and was granted $500 to go towards travel and registration to attend the conference.

Alexa graduated in December 2012 with an Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice and currently works as Legal Centre Manager for the InTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence, Melbourne.
