A group of university students are helping to combat the poor dental health at Cherbourg.

Four times a year Griffith University dental students travel to the town and set up a free dental clinic at Barambah Health Centre.

This week 10 students, with help from their supervising dentist, saw to more than 100 patients and performed 350 separate procedures.

The group behind the clinic is Hope 4 Health, one of 29 rural health clubs under the National Rural Health Students Network.

The students were supervised by Dr Ed Khoury, one of the supervising dentists on the Griffith University School of Dentistry’s roster.
