Dr. Vlado Vivoda: Promoted to Research Fellow, Grade 2
The Committee acknowledged Dr Vivoda’s strong research performance with a well-established publication record in high quality publication outlets. The Committee noted that Dr Vivoda was awarded the prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) for which he is the sole investigator, and that he is active in reviewing for top journals.
Dr Michael Clarke: Promoted to Senior Research Fellow
The Committee acknowledged Dr Clarke’s outstanding research performance which is evidenced by his 36 publications of international standing. The majority of the publications are sole authored and include a single authored book, 22 refereed journal articles (11 in A ranked journals), ten book chapters and three edited books. Dr Clarke has acted as Lead Chief Investigator on three Australian Research Council (ARC) grants. The Committee noted that Dr Clarke has undertaken guest lecturers and seminars for courses offered by the Department of International Business and Asian Studies primarily in International Security and nuclear proliferation related courses. Dr Clarke has been a manuscript reviewer for a number of academic journals in the fields of International Relations and Asian Studies including Australian Journal of International Affairs, Global Change, Peace and Security, Asian Ethnicity, and Global Policy. In addition, Dr Clarke has served as an International Reader for the Australian Research Council.
Dr Luke Glanville: Promoted to Senior Research Fellow
The Committee acknowledged Dr Glanville’s outstanding performance in research which includes three books (including one completed sole authored book manuscript under contract at University of Chicago Press), seven book chapters, three A* and four A ranked journal articles. In addition, the Committee noted that was Dr Glanville was awarded an internal research grant and an AusAid grant. The Committee noted that the AusAid grant will fund the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and Dr Glanville is currently the Deputy Director (Research) of this Centre. The Committee noted that Dr Glanville is a co-editor of Global Responsibility to Protect, a peer reviewed journal. In addition, Dr Glanville has served as reviewer for three book publishers and 13 international journals including the American Journal of Political Science and European Journal of International Relations. .
Dr. Hun Joon Kim: Promoted to Senior Research Fellow
The Committee commended Dr Kim on his well-established publication record in high quality publication outlets, including two A* refereed journal articles, a book contract with Cornell University Press, one edited book with Cambridge University Press and additional works forthcoming. The Committee noted that Dr Kim was awarded the prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA). The Committee also noted that Dr Kim was awarded two internal research grants and an external researcher grant from the United States Studies Centre, University of Sydney. In addition, Dr Kim has served as the sole post-doctoral consultant to the research project funded by the prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) in the United States. Dr Kim has also served as an assessor for the Australian Research Council and a reviewer for top journals in his field.
