Sessional staff development program receives recognition

Dr Jacqueline Drew receives award

Dr Jacqueline Drew was presented with a 2012 Arts, Education and Law Group Learning and Teaching Citation recently.

The citation was awarded to Dr Drew, Dr Lynda Davies and Ms Karin Barac for the development of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s sessional staff development program.

Citation: For the development of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s (CCJ) Sessional Staff Development Program, providing CCJ sessional staff access to localised, discipline-based support, guidance, and professional development opportunities. The Program scaffolds teachers’ understanding of learning theory; encourages application of theory to teaching practice; and promotes reflective teaching practice. The Program supports CCJ sessional staff in their pursuit of high standards of teaching and learning at the local level, impacting on the achievement of quality teaching outcomes and postively supporting the provision of an engaging and inspiring learning environment for students.
