Queensland Conservatorium celebrates the end of year with the following showcase concerts featuring our opera, popular music, music theatre and Young Con performers.

 

Young Con in concert

Young Conservatorium celebrates another year of music making with their end of year showcase concerts throughout November showcasing choirs, instrumental ensembles, vocal and piano students.

When: Saturday, 10th November
Showcase concert: 12.00pm, Conservatorium Theatre
Contemporary voice concert: 2.00pm, Ian Hanger Recital Hall

Popular Music Graduate Showcase Concert

To celebrate the end of three years of study, graduating Popular Music students will be performing at The Basement, Gold Coast Arts Centre. This is the last opportunity to see these students showcase their original work.

The Wishing Well

Don’t miss this workshop production of The Wishing Well — a feisty, powerful and uplifting story of resilience, love and new beginnings — performed by Queensland Conservatorium’s ever-energetic first year Musical Theatre students. Recommended for 15 years and older.

Liederabend (Evening of Song)

Join Lisa Gasteen, staff and students of the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School for Liederabend: an exquisite night of song. A tradition beginning in Europe, the liederabend was historically an opportunity for singers to gather informally in a home, performing songs of their beloved composers in a casual setting.

Celebrating a Musical Christmas

Students from the Queensland Conservatorium Musical Theatre department share with you their passion for music and drama in this wonderful celebration of Christmas. Fresh from their sell-out shows at the Judith Wright Centre and the Conservatorium Theatre, these students will dazzle you with their interpretation of some traditional pieces of festive music and modern arrangements of old classics including: When a Child is Born, The Nativity Carol, Sing a Christmas Carol and new arrangements of Silent Night and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Speeches, readings and poems will intersperse the musical numbers making this an evening for the whole family to enjoy.

Lisa Gasteen National Opera School Gala

Students of Lisa Gasteen National Opera School present a selection ensembles and scenes from your favourite operas to showcase the culmination of three weeks of intensive workshops and masterclasses with prestigious international guest coaches Siegfried Jerusalem, John Fisher, Giovanni Reggioli and Philip Mayers.
