Queensland police recruit training courses to be scaled back

The Courier Mail reports training courses for Queensland police recruits will be scaled back from next year, with less time spent learning about firearms, driver safety and Tasers.

“There is some evidence (that police with higher education) are . . . more effective as police officers,” said Professor Tim Prenzler.
