Thousands of Griffith University students will celebrate the milestone of graduation this week.
More than 8100 students are eligible to formally receive their degree certificates at one of 14 ceremonies held in Brisbane, Logan and on the Gold Coast.
Graduands are from all areas of the university including Law, Business, Science, Arts, Music, Environment, Engineering, Technology, Education, Health and Medicine.
Industry guest speakers will address each ceremony, joined by Griffith University Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, senior academics, special guests, and graduands’ families.
The University will also award five honorary doctorates to:
– Ms Rhonda White — co-founder of the Terry White Chemists Group
– Bob Atkinson APM — Queensland Police Commissioner
– Dr Robert Anderson OAM — Indigenous Elder and former Chairman, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Board
– Mr Martin Albrecht AC — Chair, Geodynamics Ltd and Exergen Pty Ltd
– Hon Dr Barry Jones AO — former ALP Minister.
