‘Aspire – Inspire – Achieve’ – Career Success Stories

Student Services will launch its ‘Aspire – Inspire – Achieve’ – Career Success Stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduates booklet on November 24.
This book is a celebration of the success of Griffith’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates, which follows many years of delivering specialised Indigenous Employment Programs to students and graduates.

For the past twelve months, we have been interviewing a selection of recent and past graduates and collecting the stories of their pathways from childhood, through primary, secondary and tertiary education to their current careers. The booklet features thirteen graduates working throughout Australia in different roles and its aim is to inspire other Indigenous Australians to undertake university studies and establish a satisfying career. The publication will be distributed to Indigenous secondary school students and students commencing university..

The book launch will be attended by The Chancellor Leneen Forde AC; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Sue Spence; graduates who stories appear in the book; members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee and the Council of Elders, Management of the Department of Education and Workplace Relations, and GUMURRII and Student Services staff.

Some graduates will be travelling from interstate especially to attend the launch.
