Based at the University’s burgeoning Gold Coast research campus, Ms Jackson is charged with gaining greater recognition for the University’s teaching and research, particularly its results in the federal government’s Excellence in Research for Australia report last month, which put it in the top 10 of Australian research universities.

Griffith is undertaking major capital redevelopments at its Gold Coast and Nathan campuses.

Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O’Connor said Ms Jackson had an outstanding track record in university promotion and outreach and was well known for her extensive work in higher education and media.

Prior to joining Griffith, Meredith ran Melbourne-based businesses specialising in communications and marketing strategy for higher education clients. She is a former marketing and public affairs director for Monash University and The University of Queensland.
