Student Exchange Opportunity
University of Innsbruck – Information Session Thursday 30th October @ 3pm – Gold Coast campus (G16_1.12)
Dr Mike Peters from the University of Innsbruck will be visiting the Gold Coast campus on Thursday 30th of October and will be will be hosting an exchange information session for students interested in studying in Austria.
The University of Innsbruck will also be hosting a Tourism Study Tour from the 7th – 21st of February 2009 where students will be introduced to top European Tourism researchers and practitioners who will present up-to-date research and actual trends in the tourism industry. The 10 sessions, all taught in English, will focus on Tourism planning and Development processes, looking in turn at subjects ranging from ‘the economic impact of tourism and leisure’ to ‘the role of tourism policies and destination stakeholders’.
Located in the heart of the Alps, only a short distance away from Switzerland, Germany and Italy, it is an ideal location for students to explore the field of tourism management in Europe.
The program includes two excursions, one to Laax, Switzerland with a lecture of a tourism expert at the University of St Gallen and a visit to the tourism destination managers of the Best of the Alps Winter sport resort St Anton am Arlberg, the other to tourism resorts in South Tyrol.
The cost of the Study Tour program is AUD$3,890 and includes tuition and course materials, shared accommodation (single accommodation available for a supplement of AUD$445), breakfasts, welcome & farewell dinners, transport to and from Airport, field trips and 3 excursions to tourism destination in Austria, Italy and Switzerland, train fares between locations, cultural activities, access to institutional facilities like libraries and computers and a pre-departure pack (including a Lonely Planet guide).
