One of the biggest problems for business is no longer staff turnover, but keeping staff engaged according to keynote speaker for the next Griffith Business School Professional Women’s Networking Breakfast.
Re-engagement expert Karen Schmidt will share her expertise, strategies, antidotes and more at the breakfast on Friday, September 19 at the Arts Restaurant, Gold Coast Arts Centre from 7am.
Ms Schmidt said there were a number of reasons why staff became disengaged.
“It used to be high turnover was the biggest staffing problem managers had to deal with, but today, the real issue is engagement – finding a way to get people to do more than just turn up to work physically,” Ms Schmidt said.
“It’s about finding ways to engage them mentally and emotionally.”
“People are engaged when you hire them but along the way something happens, their motivation levels drop off and their performance suffers.”
At the breakfast learn why people become disengaged, what impact it has on your organisation and, more importantly, how to fix it.
Karen will look at how employee engagement links to bottom line results, how to recognise the three levels of engagement, what causes disengagement, three simple keys to re-engagement and provide a simple plan for lifting engagement levels.
