Dan will be working in the studio from 29 March. An exhibition at the end of his residency will feature the works created over that period of time, some of which will be sold through the MOB store.
Dan;’s CV
Dan Cox is a current student of the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. In 2007 he completed his major in Gold and Silversmithing culminating with the graduate exhibition ‘Exit Strategy’ where he received an award for “the most comprehensive body of work’.
Dan’s work deals with the issues of species introduction to the native Australian environment – the relating impacts on native fauna and flora, as well as the mechanics of aviation and the esteem of air travel, from both the onlookers perspective and the perspective of the traveller. Through both of these areas of investigation, Dan Cox focuses on the environment, in particular, how the environment can be perceived and what effects people and animals have on the landscape and their interaction with it.
Through this work, Dan hopes to create an awareness of issues which face the environment both on a global and local scale.
