Aspiring copywriter wins national prize

Griffith University media communications student Rachelle Boyle has taken out the top gong in Australia’s Toughest Brief competition.

The competition asked entrants to create advertisements that would inspire people to become politicans. The aspiring copywriter beat more than 90 creative executions with her ad featuring the tagline ‘Some people grumble, others rumble.’

“I wanted to create something that would make people feel as though they could stand up for the issues they believed in, that they had the power to change things in their world,” she said.

Ms Boyle’s prizes include a trip to the Caxton Awards in Byron Bay this weekend for best print ad, $1000 for the best creative ad and $1000 for the best idea from an Australian.

“I’d always planned on becoming a freelance copywriter and now it’s really happening. It’s a dream come true.”
